The term sounding board is defined as someone with whom you can try out an idea or practice with; the reaction of your sounding board gives you an idea of how your eventual audience will respond.
This concept aligns perfectly with the ethos of the free Soundboard Session I offer, designed to support your personal development journey. It provides a chance for us to discuss where you are right now and where you aspire to be. Additionally, it allows us both to determine if we have the right rapport to navigate the path of self-improvement together.
I encourage you to take the first step in your mindset transformation journey and book your Soundboard Session, which consists of an hour or so video call on Google Meet, using the button above.
The focus of most traditional life coaches is to help people get to a specific goal/goals and do all the things we said before – focus on the present and future, set actions plans and all that.
And that’s fine for some people.
However, the work I do is always intended to go much deeper than that by discovering why people want to achieve a goal/goals in the first place, otherwise they often end up achieving it and realising it still doesn’t fulfil them.
If someone chooses to tread the path I offer and gets to a place where their self-worth is repaired and they’re doing things for themselves rather than as a result of all the programming they were carrying previously, we can then focus on specific goals if they want to, all the time checking back to question why it is they say they want whatever it is they’re aiming for – which, guess what, does mean going back into their past at some point to root for answers.
What then happens is that often when people have fully done the deeper work, the going for goals work isn’t needed as much anyway because they’re just more relaxed about the world and slowly moving towards whatever they think they want, leaving open the possibility of changing their mind as they go, which is a marked difference from the world of goal working and setting that many coaches primarily assist.
So you could call me a living coach – because life will become a consequence of living.
One thing is true, though: whilst we can build the path, only you can tread. Or to use another analogy, do you remember the movie Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure? If you don’t, check it out (dudes). I am Rufus with the phone booth. I merely open the booth’s door, you have to step into it and dial the numbers:
