About Me

So at this point, you might be wanting to find out a bit more about me, and my experiences leading me to becoming the mindset transformer. Well, here you go then, here's some quick bullet points, as well as a picture of me on the right there, so that you know I'm not a robot. You'll also see quotes from pop-culture figures adorning this page that are personal choices by me which resonate with my values and outlook.

What is your background?

  • My name’s Doshi. Vishad Doshi (that’s the James Bond fan kicking in there), born and bred in north west London, England
  • My professional career spanning around 14 years so far has been in the world of investment banking operations
  • A lot of the time, you’ll find me on my acoustic or electric guitars or in my home studio, trying to become the next Noel Gallagher
  • My other passions include playing and watching football, cricket and snooker, writing and reading fiction (any recommendations from bookworms are most welcome) and going to gigs, be they music, theatre or standup comedy

What have you overcome in your life?

To date, working on my mindset and self worth has let me meet and overcome challenges such as:

  • Social awareness – accepting and working on my naturally introverted behaviours and traits in friendship, family and romantic circles
  • Academic enjoyment and underwhelm - dealing with going from enjoying my subject (Economics) at an undergraduate level, but then feeling underwhelmed in my postgraduate course
  • Professional progression - working in an investment banking enrvironment that demanded constant focus, attention and - eventually culminating in feeling like just doing the job to a high standard wasn't deemed to be enough
  • Personal development - coming from a culture that is big on achievements (i.e. degree, partner, house, car, kids) at certain junctures in life, not achieving them at times when other people expect them to happen was pointed out to me by family

What coaching have you had? Have you taken any qualifications?

  • I first came across coaching when researching it as a potential career move a few years ago after becoming disillusioned with investment banking and feeling my future wasn't in finance
  • My research showed that coaching was a path that resonated with my values of compassion, listening, supporting others and never giving up
  • I investigated coaching further after I left my first role in investment banking via some introductory workshops to give me an insight into what it's all about and how it could work for me
  • My support for Liverpool, the football team I support, led to me being put in front of my ideal coach (ask me for more details on how this came about), where we went through a coaching program tailored entirely to my own experiences and situations
  • It was a competely unique, creative approach that really resonated hard with my life; it immediately had a sense of being repeatable and not just being a one off thing, and one that would end up generating profound results for me
  • to this day, I continue to work with my coach to keep practicing and honing my path
  • Qualifications-wise, I took and successfully completed 2: one was in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) which has intrigued me for a while, enabling me to become an NLP Practitioner, and a Master Coaching Diploma which gave me access to more ways to help people

Who do you relate with?

  • I relate to people with a yearning for change. They recognise that where they are now isn't where they want to be and willing to embrace new ways to get to where they want to
  • I also relate to people who are passionate about something but have lost touch with it as they are working on the life goals that our culture and society can throw at us e.g. get a driving licence, get married, have kids. What the passion is about doesn’t matter – they don’t have to be a sports fan or music advocate like me, but it helps to get fired up and get excited by something
  • I relate to those who want to re-engage with their uninhibited selves - those who have consequently become tired (mentally and physically), experiencing self doubt through repetition of circumstances (e.g. family, work, their team, friends, kids, partner), struggles with expectations, either from themselves or from their environment

Where are you now?

A massive lesson I got from my coach's approach was that

the vast majority if not all the issues/niches that other coaches target all have the same root.

What does that mean? Well, ultimately, it's an application of one of the underlying principles of the work, which is to look beyond the symptom to find the actual cause.

The Soundboard Session is there for us to have that initial chat between us to see if we're right for each other. If it turns out for whatever reason we're not, that's ok. You'll at the very least have had that conversation with me and I may be able to point you in the right direction of people that are a better fit for you. There really is nothing to lose by booking your free Soundboard Session

So, yes, I am talking to you. Not as someone that's part of a convenient demographic. I'm talking to you as a fellow human being.

That is me in a few paragraphs. I took the time on myself to work with my coach on myself and feel renewed by doing so. I invite you to start to do the same for yourself by booking your free  Soundboard Session
